Creating a Digital Link & QR Code with IBN Link Resolver (id.ibn.link)
1. Generate Your Digital Link and QR Code
Follow these steps to complete the Digital Link Generator Form:
- Resolver: Select IBN Link (id.ibn.link)
- Identifier: Select (01) GTIN
- GTIN Number: Enter your product’s 12-digit UPC or 13-digit EAN-13 (GTIN )
- No GTIN? → Get barcodes at International Barcodes.
- Key Qualifiers (optional)
- Add batch/serial numbers (if applicable)
- Data Attributes (optional)
- Add dates/measurements e.g. best before, weight
- Submit → IBN validates your link instantly
⚠️ Troubleshooting Invalid Links:
- Weight/Length/Volume (AI 3100-3695):
- Format as 6 digits (e.g. 2.5kg → 000250)
- Verify AI Formats:

- QR Code Format: Provided as SVG (scalable vector)
- Design Tips:
- Resize minimally to ensure scannability
- Test prints with smartphone camera
- Include both QR + 1D barcode (UPC/EAN) until 2027 (POS scanner transition)
- Fix Scan Failures:
- Check print quality, size or background contrast
- If it doesn’t, check for poor print quality or size issues.
